The Namuru V3.2A Space GNSS receiver
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Namuru family of Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)-based GNSS receivers now includes a space-qualified design designated the Namuru V3.2A. This GPS L1 carrier phase receiver is suitable for low earth orbit (LEO) “cube” satellites. Actel flash-based FPGA’s are used along with latch-up detection circuitry and other standard techniques to provide resilience to the effects of radiation. The design supports multiple firmware image selection and firmware field update management.

The Namuru Receiver as Development Platform for Spaceborne Gnss Applications
GPS is a well established navigation system in current spaceflight missions. Affordable GPS receivers for small satellite and sounding rocket missions are usually based on Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products. Many of these receivers are limited to single frequency tracking and utilise custom ASICs for the signal processing. The Phoenix receiver is an example of a commercially available rec...
متن کاملA Low cost Namuru V3 receiver for Spacecraft operations
The Namuru Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) GNSS receiver has continued to develop at UNSW as research has progressed. A low cost receiver based on the new V3 Namuru platform has been developed for space operations. Although not fully space qualified in terms of radiation tolerance, this receiver is designed to recover gracefully using redundancy where possible to maintain operational statu...
متن کاملDevelopment of a Spaceborne GPS Receiver for Precise Relative Navigation of Formation Flying Small Satellites
Use of the differential carrier phase measurements of the Global Positioning System (GPS) can achieve centimetre-level accuracy thus it can be applied to the relative positioning in formation flying missions. This paper describes the development of a spaceborne GPS receiver upon the UNSW’s Namuru GPS receiver, which is built on the field of field programmable gate array (FGPA). Operating a GPS ...
متن کاملThe Namuru Open GNSS Research Receiver
Namuru is the name given to the open GNSS receiver research platform developed at the University of New South Wales, Australia. This paper presents the latest design details, results and achievements from the Namuru project team. The platform includes three aspects; 1) a custom circuit board, 2) baseband processor (correlator block) logic design and 3) application firmware. Both the circuit boa...
متن کاملUNSW GNSS Interference Detection Device
The radio frequency signals transmitted by Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) have very low power and are susceptible to radio frequency interference. Most GNSS receivers do not measure and quantify any interference they may be suffering; they just do what they can with the signals they receive. Interference can lead to poor receiver positioning performance and, if severe, such as in a ...
